Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio will be sponsoring this 1-Day NYS Safe Boating certification course, offered by Safe Boating America.
Pre-registration is required and seating is limited. The fee for this course is $60.00 (discounted from $85) and registrants must be a minimum of 10 years of age. Upon successful completion, participants will be issued a New York State Boating Safety Certificate, what most people call a Boating License or Jetski License.
This certificate is required for all Jetski/PWC Operators regardless of age and required for all boaters based upon date of birth has follows:
~Those born on or after 1/1/1998 currently need a safety certificate
~Those born on or after 1/1/1983 need a safety certificate beginning January 2023.
~Those born on or after 1/1/1978 need a safety certificate beginning January 2024.
~All powerboat operators regardless of age will need a boating safety certificate beginning in January 2025.
